2012 Year in Review

Now that the first month of 2013 is almost over...I should say "Happy New Year!" and do a summary of 2012:

We began the year finding out I was pregnant!  After Asher's unplanned homebirth, we decided to plan on this one being born at home.  Thanks to a friend from church we were able to quickly find a wonderful midwife.

Knowing that once this baby arrived we would not all fit in our car anymore, we began to look for a minivan that we could buy with our tax refund.  We planned on looking for a while before finding what we wanted but God provided exactly what we were looking for.  So in March we became minivan owners!

Spring turned to summer...a hot summer!  We spent lots of time playing outside and lots of time thanking God for air conditioning!  We spent a fun week in June in the Wisconsin Dells for a family reunion.
Our favorite attraction -- the small, free zoo and park!

NOT the amazing waterparks at the resort!

Only a month later, we were back with the same family again for the unexpected funeral of my grandpa...a minor surgery led to a major infection  and his quick and unexpected death.  A sad time for my family but also a good time of togetherness and celebrating the wonderful life and legacy of my grandfather.  Praise God for His promise of eternal life in Heaven!

August was spent trying to stay cool and preparing for the arrival of Baby.  Tony and I were able to spend a fun kid-less day at the Lake Itasca Family Bluegrass Festival.  (Thanks Nana, Pa and Ronda!)

Hannah Grace joined our family on September 10th.  She continues to be a blessing and such a happy baby.  She is proving to be one tough cookie as she (mostly) tolerates Asher's exuberant hugs and playing.
Hannah, 1 week old.
October and November found us bidding on and purchasing our first home!  Tony spent the first half of December making needed repairs before we moved in and got rid of lots of stuff!
What an exciting and blessed year 2012 has been.  We look forward to seeing what God has planned for us in 2013.  Keep up with us here at Turn2theSimple and keep up with Tony's current building project at MosquitoCreekMandolin.
